As of today, we are officially "cleared" for departure by Africa Inland Mission!!

"Who am I, Sovereign LORD, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?...

For the sake of Your Word and according to Your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant.

How great You are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like You, and there is no God but You!"

 -2 Samuel 7:18, 21-22

In 5 short weeks we will be leaving for Kenya!!!

We are overwhelmed, to say the least!!...
  • by God's provision
  • by the support and prayers from all of you
  • by the beauty of how God orchestrates so many different lives to accomplish His purposes
  • by the fulfillment of a dream we started pursuing 10 years ago!
  • by all that we have to do in the next 5 weeks!! :)
However, He has given us every reason to trust that "He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it." (Phil. 1:6)

We sincerely thank you for your love and prayers and financial support! Wish we could have you all over tonight for a celebration party!! :)

With great joy, thanksgiving, and anticipation to begin our ministry at RVA!
Michael and Jill :)

Specific Dates

Oct. 2 -we leave Franklin, TN and make our way to AIM headquarters in Peachtree, GA (with our 30 pieces of luggage in tow!)

Oct. 4 -we board our plane for Nairobi, Kenya

Oct. 9-30 -we attend Africa Based Orientation (ABO) in Muchakos, Kenya (a couple hours drive from RVA, I believe)

Oct. 30 -we finally arrive at RVA and begin settling in

Update on Michael's job -we felt that God confirmed that it was the right time and so Michael talked to his supervisors on the first day of faculty meetings, August 13. He let them know that based on support that was coming in, he probably needed to give his 5 weeks notice. They were caught a little off guard. The next morning, they decided to let him go immediately rather than start the first 5 weeks of school. It was our turn to be caught a little off guard! Although I panicked a little at first, we have already seen God's financial provision and are enjoying the absence of stress from his job and are realizing that God knew we really needed this time to get everything in order before our departure! It was not our plan, but is working our better than our plan!
We'll keep you posted!
